All of these events happened in 1.5 months. Yet the competencies were not the only EI tools I had used.
These stressful challenges required an affirmation within myself to get through it. Once I kept mindful of the TIE tool, I accepted the reality, heartily.
Stress is sometimes a wonderful motivator, to do better and become better. What we perceive as bad, could actually be good for us and it teaches us wholeheartedly, provided we are open to it.
How I managed it all was by knowing it is Temporary and that "This too, shall pass", by allowing my heart to drive me and my mind to handle each event, feeling, and thought separately, each event Isolated from the other, and this allowed me to have focused intent in order to put the Effort required to make it happen.
Mind you, it is quite the challenge to switch from making a chocolate delivery to getting home to check on chocolate orders and then sitting down to focusing on writing a Training outline and then switching to writing a client email. It really requires different selling techniques for training programs and others for sweets!
Can you imagine the absurdity of speaking chocolate language with a training client? It could be hazardous and downright embarrassing! Thankfully, this did not happen.
When changing and transforming, it is always uncomfortable at first to readjust our boundaries, to stay focused on our goal, thereby creating more resilience.
According to my SEI Brain profile, I was low on Navigating Emotions, which through my "About Me" section you would find was the main reason I wanted to find a way to navigate my emotions which would previously get in the way of my success.
Whenever I felt that I would start to fall back into my previous patterns, I would remember the words of an EQ classmate who grabbed me just before taking off. She said, "Maya, enough is enough! Believe in yourself, you have so much to offer and you are so talented. You are fed up. That's it. Make it happen." Sometimes great teachers choose to guide us and put us on the right path and help speed up our progress. So each time I felt I would lose scope of Navigating my Emotions, I would remember her words.
Those words also helped fuel my purpose forward. I shall continue to make a positive change through EQ and to keep on creating my resilience: the power to carry on when we feel we are going to fall.
