LIVING WITH EQ / SELF-AWARENESS

Prioritizing - Quality vs Quantity

Please allow yourself to lay down on your side on the magic carpet…

How do you manage all the previous events in 1.5 months when your brother and his wife just arrived from abroad and you are expected to take them out around the town during this hectic Christmas season? :)

Now, let’s be realistic. We are not superhuman nor does EQ make you superhuman! I barely managed to take my brother and his wife out, 4 times out of 10; less than adequate? Still, it was all I could do, yet we managed to spend quaint bonding moments.

At times all that is required is to show them highlights of what they would like to see and share these moments with them. For e.g. they wished to feel the Christmas spirit in a cultural historical context, so I took them places where they felt the Christmas spirit and got a feel of what makes Lebanon, its history and its culture. They missed the delicious food Lebanon is renown for, so I made sure they tasted delicious food...

Simplicity is always best and paying attention to what people need and want when we serve them.

Moral: Given highly stressful circumstances, we cannot be at all places at once; we need to come to terms with that rather than be too hard on ourselves. After all, time well spent with loved ones is more important than the quantity. Wisdom Lives Within.
Not to forget that Emotions Drive People! If we are exhausted and out of balance, our worn out emotions will spread to happy innocent bystanders coming on vacation! Priority is key to Quality!
